Week 12 : Time

Faculty – Jai Ranjit

Date – 20/03/2020

This project gave me this opportunity to sit with my grandparents and parents, to know how differently they enjoyed these movies and what were their opinions on it. This activity simply helped me to have a reviews on the era.

What I discovered from their chat was that the movies and songs were cherished by audience, they were valued a lot as it was very rare and a good source of entertainment.

Bollywood item numbers were a big No No. There were family entertainment movies (U/A) and not adult movies as they were not appreciated by the audience.

People at that time were very simple, they were very particular and followed strict rules for themselves, their families and the society more than that they were very religious. Also the elderly people of that time didn’t like watching movies and were not in the favour of letting other family members watch it as they used to think it is bad for the society.

I enjoyed this conversation with my family, getting to know about my grandma’s favourite actor and my grandpa’s reaction when he got to know about how much she liked Dev Anand was a good time pass during Covid-19
